TROY

COACH: Cynthia Tan, second season.

2009-10 RECORD: 4-4, 1-3 OAA.

LEAGUE MEET: Third at OAA championships.

REGIONAL MEET: Sixth (highest regional finish in 10 years).

KEY RETURNEES: Sara Lin, jr. (State qualifier on beam, 10th, vault, and all-around, 11th); Brenna O’Brien, soph. (qualified on bars for states and placed seventh on bars, Division 2); Emily Pulte, jr. (third  year on competes on floor, beam and bars); Eliza Stepien, soph. (assisted the team last year to a sixth-place finish at regionals; competes all four events); Sarah Stoolmiller, sr. (four-year captain; missed second half of last season); Claire Simonis, sr. (beam specialist).

KEY NEWCOMERS: Angelica Urbaniak, soph.  (Has previous experience in the club gymnastics arena; will compete all-around; strongest events are floor and beam); Christina Shabet, fr. (all-around for Troy high.  Her strong events will be vault and beam).

OUTLOOK: The Colts are on the upswing with better numbers and better overall talent and depth this season; they have already scored high at a couple of invitationals this season; could this be the year Troy makes a long-awaited return to the state finals after a decade-long absence?
