Top-ranked Rochester College wins 10th straight with win over Great Lakes Christian

ROCHESTER HILLS — Rochester College has been ranked among the top men’s basketball teams in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association circles all season. The top-ranked Warriors proved that to Great Lakes Christian Monday.

RC landed five players in double figures in a 95-57 victory over Great Lakes Christian.

The Warriors, who landed 11 of 15 players into the scoring column, led 53-28 at the half and never looked back in the rout.

Ricky Doran led a balanced effort with 22 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots. Lorenzo McClelland added 16 points and five rebounds, Sean Mattia chipped in with 13 points, seven assists and six steals, and Michael Graham and Jeff Hines both scored 11 for the Warriors, who held a 42-29 edge in the second half despite going deep into its bench.

Rochester College held a 57-40 edge on the board and also forced 24 turnovers in the contest.

Thomas Dowling scored 12 for Great Lakes Christian, which was held to 33.8 percent shooting from the floor.
