TUESDAY’S GIRLS BASKETBALL: Harris lead Raiders past Athens; Divine Child turns back WOLL

TROY — The OAA does not pick divisional MVP’s in sports. If they did, than Jasmine Harris would be a candidate in the OAA Red Division.

The junior again lit up the scoreboard Tuesday,  collecting a game-high 27 points, including a trio of three-pointers, in leading North Farmington to a 42-38 OAA Red Division girls basketball triumph over Troy Athens.

The Raiders outscored Athens 25-20 in the second half to prevail. Kaitlyn Kendall added six points for North Farmington (8-9, 5-8), which trailed 18-17 at the half.

Sinclair Russell scored 12 for Athens (10-5, 8-5) and Jenna O’Dell twined eight points.
DEARBORN DIVINE CHILD, 40, WATERFORD OUR LADY OF THE LAKES 37: Divine Child used a 9-6 surge in the fourth quarter to pull away from the defending Class D state champs in this CHSL crossover Tuesday.

Morgan Blair scored 11 to lead the Falcons (13-4), while Cara Miller added seven points for Divine Child, which led 26-24 at the half.

Carlee Cottrell scored 12 and Lauren Roback added seven points for WOLL (13-4).

ROCHESTER STONEY CREEK 69, UTICA EISENHOWER 60: The Cougars stepped outside the OAA Tuesday and recorded this nine-point win over the Eagles.

Lauren Worth scored 14 Anna Vess added 13 points and Kayle Geffert, chipped in with 10 points for Eisenhower (8-8), which shot just 16-for-28 from the foul line.

Kara Kovack drilled seven 3-pointers and finished with 26 points for the Cougars (9-8). She was also a perfect 5-for-5 from the foul line. Gabby Yurik added 15 points, Keri Scipione followed with 11 points and Emily Wood tossed in eight points for Stoney Creek, which led 42-27 at the half and 53-42 through three quarters of play.
