FRIDAY’S PREP ROUNDUP: Bryce’s bomb lifts Adams over Harrison; Country Day trips Avondale in battle of top-10 teams

ROCHESTER HILLS — Rochester Adams’ Emily Bryce hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to lift Rochester Adams to a 42-41 victory over Farmington Hills Harrison in OAA White Division girls basketball play.

The win avenged an earlier defeat to the Hawks.

Bryce finished with nine points, Taylor Houghtlin added eight points and Jenny Rosonke scored six for Adams (9-8, 6-6).

The Highlanders trailed 24-15 through three quarters of play before reeling off a 27-17 fourth-quarter comeback to ground the Hawks.

Emma Hubbard scored 19 and Joslyn Wilcox added 10 points for Harrison (9-9, 7-5).

BIRMINGHAMHAM DETROIT COUNTRY DAY 53, AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 42: Aerial Powers scored with a game-high 16 points to lead DCD to the win ion a battle of state-ranked teams. Mary-Kate MacLean sadded 12 points for Country Day (17-0). Hannah Little led Avondale (15-2) with 14 points, but the Yellowjackets’ 15-game win streak was halted.

ROCHESTER HILLS LUTHERAN NORTHWEST 44, WESTLAND LUTHERAN 25: Kim Lepor scored a game-high 21 points to lift Northwest to this MIAC Blue Division win. Lepor canned five 3-pointers in the contest for the Crusaders. (10-8., 7-6). Amanda Perranella scored nine points for Lutheran Westland.

ROCHESTER HILLS CHRISTIAN 53, MILFORD WEST HIGHLAND CHRISTIAN 15: Megan Steiner had 14 points and seven rebounds to pace the Eagles to the non-conference win, Jane Crile added eight points and Christie Steiner had six points and eight rebounds for Rochester Hills Christian (20-1).

BIRMINGHAM GROVES 52, TROY 35: The Falcons upset the OAA-Red Division Colts Friday. Morgan Pullins had 18 points and Grace Halloran scored eight for Groves. Sabrina Cotton scored 12 for Troy (11-6), which fell behind 13-4 after the first quarter and 24-10 at the half and could not recover. The Falcons (11-6) outscored the Colts 28-25 in the second half.

BOYS BASKETBALL

OXFORD 67, BLOOMFIELD HILLS ANDOVER 44: It was all Oxford during Friday’s OAA Blue Division contest. Chris Calvin collected a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds to pace Oxford (6-10, 5-6). Myron Butler scored 12 points for Andover (3-12, 2-10)..

ROCHESTER 62, ROYAL OAK 50: The Falcons collected another OAA Blue Division win Friday, this time over the only team that has defeated Rochester in league play. Nick Bradley scored 16 points and Billy Klotz followed with 14 points for Rochester (12-4, 9-1). Terrell Nickerson had 14 points and DeAndre Smith scored 13 points, for Royal Oak.

ROCHESTER HILLS CHRISTIAN 65, MILFORD WEST HIGHLAND CHRISTIAN 58: D.J. Szydlowski had 18 points and 10 rebounds to pace Rochester Hills Christian to the non-conference win. Aaron Barry added 14 points and five assists for the Eagles (15-9). Jordan Hamilton had a game-high 29 points and Will Watkins added 15 points for West Highland Christian (7-8).

AUBURN HILLS OAKLAND CHRISTIAN 49, ALLEN PARK INTER-CITY BAPTIST 39: Drew Perrin and Josh Peterson had 10 points apiece for Oakland Christian, which remained in a first-place tie in the MIAC Blue Division. The Lancers are 15-1, including 9-1 in league play. Evan Kraatz had 15 points for Inter-City, which has four league losses and eliminated from the title chase.

TROY 48, BIRMINGHAM SEAHOLM 43: The Colts used a 15-9 run to pull away from Seaholm in the fourth quarter for the OAA White Division win. James young scored 13 and Jeff Holmes added nine points for Troy (14-3, 11-2). Brandon Yousif scored 22 for Seaholm, hitting four 3-pointers to keep the Maples (5-11, 4-9) close.
