Oakland Christian trips Life Summit; Bethany upends Faith Christian

AUBURN HILLS — Auburn Hills Oakland Christian opened up the girls soccer season Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Sterling Heights Life Summit Home School.

Darcy Johnston, an honorable-mention all-stater last season, tallied both goals for the Lancers (1-0-0). She scored off a corner kick and once off a direct free kick.

TROY BETHANY CHRISTIAN 3, CLINTON TOWNSHIP FAITH CHRISTIAN 1: Anna Tomkowiak scored two goals with an assists to lead the Bruins past the Patriots, the defending FBAC league champions. Carolyn Grassi also scored for the Bruins (1-0-0, 1-0-0). Joy Lampert had 12 saves for Bethany Christian in the win.

NORTH FARMINGTON 1, LAKE ORION 0: Jessie Trimmer scored the goal for North Farmington. Haley Barnes had seven saves for Lake Orion in the loss.
