GIRLS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Clarkston blanks Royal Oak; Oxford trips up Harrison

CLAKRSTON — Behind the foot of Lisa Lyons, Clarkston tripped up Royal Oak 2-0 Wednesday night in OAA Red Division girls soccer play.

Lyons scored off a feed from Sam Johnson in the first half, while Lyons converted a pass from Morgan Todd in the second half for the Wolves.

Jackie Gite made six saves for Clarkston (5-7-3, 1-6-3) to gain the shutout.

OXFORD 5, FARMINGTON HARRISON 1: Taylor Healy scored a goal and assisted on two others in leading the Wildcats to the OAA White Division win. Amanda Roth andBreanna Johnson both had a goal and an assist, while Beth Downs and Miram Ibarra scored a goal apiece for Oxford (7-4-3, 6-1-3).

ROCHESTER 3, LAKE ORION 0: Rochester scored a goal in the first half, then tacked on two more tallies after halftime in posting this OAA Red Division win. Maria Lepore, Abby Rawling and Sofia Farah scored for Rochester, while Sarah Egbert, Stephanie Sikorski and Sara Sikorski drew assists for the Falcons. Laura Ivezaj and Stephanie Heber both made three saves to share the shutout for the Falcons (8-5-2, 5-4-1). Lake Orion is 5-7-1 overall and 3-6-1 in the league.

ROCHESTER ADAMS 5, NORTH FARMINGTON 0: Adams wrapped up second place in the OAA Red Division with this five-goal romp of the Raiders. The ninth-ranked Highlanders scored three in the first half and two goals in the second half to move to 14-2-2 overall, 8-1-1 in league play. Merlin Beckwith had a goal and two assists for the Highlanders, while Hannah Lee, Shannon McDevitt, MacKenzie Barber and Rachel Wehbe also scored for Adams. Allison Reed and Julie Genouw also had assists and Jessica Wineke made five saves for the shutout.

TROY 1, AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 0: Troy locked down third place in the final OAA Red Division standings with this shutout of the visiting Yellowjackets. Madison Hirsch scored off a pass from Irene young to lead the Colts (12-1-2, 7-1-2). Alison Holland made five saves for her team’s11qth shutout on the season for Troy, which won its fifth in a row. Andrea Strauss made nine saves for Avondale (10-5-0, 7-4-0).
