OXFORD — Peter Gebara had the hot bat and Troy downed Oxford 11-8 in an OAA Red Division baseball game Tuesday in Oxford.

Gebara went 2-for-4 with a triple and drove home three runs for the Colts (13-8-1, 8-5). Tyler Horne was 3-for-4 with three RBI, Dan Essian had two RBI and Sean O’ Brien struck out 10 to help gain the win on the mound for Troy

Keith Paslean went 3-for-4 with two RBI for Oxford (2-15, 0-13).

AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 8, TROY ATHENS 6: Avondale may not win the OAA Red Division title, but the Yellowjackets may just play the role as spoiler. The Yellowjackets handed Athens its fourth league loss and dropped the Red Hawks into third place in the league. Brian Portelli, A.J.Susick and Matt Andrus all had round-trippers in the win for Avondale (12-9, 7-7). Jacob Barger had a two-run homer for Athens (13-6, 9-4).

PONTIAC NOTRE DAME PREP 7-8, WATERFORD OUR LADY OF THE LAKES 4-4: Notre Dame Prep earned this non-league road sweep Tuesday of the Lakers. Brian Golasa finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and Nick Tower went 2-for-3 and plated two runs in the opener for NDP (18-11).  Mitch Lasceski led WOLL by going 2-for-3 with two RBI. In the nightcap, Tom Constand had a solo home run and three RBI and Aidan Cullen had two hits, two runs and drove in another run for Notre Dame Prep. Lasceski went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run and three RBI for Lakes.

GIRLS SOCCER

ROCHESTER STONEY CREEK 3, BIRMINGHAM GROVES 0: Maddie Lucci had two goals and an assist Tuesday in leading the visiting Cougars to this OAA crossover win. Joanie Sieja had a goal and an assist for Stoney Creek (10-6-0).

AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 1, ROYAL OAK: Avondale clinched fourth place out of 11 schools in the OAA Red Division with this road win Tuesday over the Ravens. Xiadani Ruiz scored the game’s lone goal and Andrea Strauss recorded the shutout for Avondale (13-5-0, 6-4-0).

ROCHESTER ADAMS 1, BIRMINGHAM MARIAN 1: Perhaps Marian w should be an honorary member of the OAA Red Division for girls soccer, as the Mustangs, ranked No. 1 in Division 2, have scheduled several games against members of that power league this season. Allie Brodsky scored for Marian Tuesday in this non-league game in Rochester Hills, while MacKenzie Barber netted the goal for Adams (13-3-2, No.7 Division 1). Marian moved to 14-2-3 overall and will face two more OAA-Red schools in the next week, Rochester on Thursday and Auburn Hills Avondale next week in a state tournament opener.
