PONTIAC — There will be no road trip this weekend for the Michigan Bucks.
The Great Lakes Division champions of the PDL drew the No. 1 seed for the Central Conference regional tournament this weekend and will host both semifinal games and regional championship at the Ultimate Soccer Arenas.
Games times on Friday are 6 and 8 p.m. with Saturday’s championship match set for 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale online for $5. There is also a family pass available for $25. For more information go to the tickets link on www.buckssoccer.com.
On Tuesday, the Chicago Fire will host FC London in a regional play-in game.
On July 29, the Central Conference regional semifinals will feature the Thunder Bay Chill, the Heartland Division champion, playing either Chicago or FC London at 6 p.m. Following at 8 p.m., the Michigan Bucks will face the Des Moines Menace.
The winners will come back Saturday night for the right to advance to the Final Four the following weekend on the line.
There will be an expanded postseason field this season, jumping from 16 to 20 teams. Last year’s PDL North American champion, the Portland timbers, failed to reach the postseason.
