THURSDAY’S PREP ROUNDUP: Wolves sweep Adams; Lapeer East outlasts Holly

ROCHESTER HILLS — Clarkston opened up the OAA Red Division volleyball season Thursday with a three-game sweep of host Rochester Adams. The Wolves posted wins of 25-22, 25-12 and 25-16 to remain unbeaten on the year.

Kaley Konjarevich had nine kills and Stephanie Marani added seven kills for Clarkston. Brianna Frakes chipped in with 20 assists for the Wolves (14-0-0, 1-0), who have won four straight league titles and five in the past eight seasons.

Marissa Ratzenberger had 18 digs and Sophie Smith slammed eight kills for Adams (6-9-0, 0-1).

LAPEER EAST 25-17-25-19-15, HOLLY 13-25-20-25-5: Lapeer East outlasted Holly in five games Thursday to earn the Flint Metro League win. Hannah Timm and Sierra Haneline each had six kills to pace Holly. Shelby Wohlfiel and Adrienne Cheff had seven assists each, Timm served up five aces and Ashley Wohlfiel had 26 digs and 43 serve receptions for Holly.

AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 16-25-25-18-15, BLOOMFIELD HILLS ANDOVER 25-21-13-25-12: Emily Schaub picked up six blocks and four kills Thursday in leading the Yellowjackets to the OAA White Division win over the Barons (5-10-0, 0-1).  Avondale is 10-5 overall and 1-0 in league play.

PONTIAC NOTRE DAME PREP 4, ANN ARBOR GABRIEL RICHARD 2: Notre Dame Prep built a 3-1 lead at the half and cruised to the CHSL win over the Fighting Irish.

Ryan Pierce netted two goals for Notre Dame Prep (3-3-0, 1-0-0). Ruairi McGreevy and Peter Dondanville also scored for the Fighting Irish.
