SOUTHFIELD — Rochester Adams raced out to a 16-0 lead and never looked back in recording a 30-6 OAA White Division victory over Southfield Lathrup Friday.

The win kept the Highlanders in a three-way tie for first place in the division at 2-0. Adams shares the lead with Oak Park and Farmington Harrison, the defending league champs.

Tony Annese finished the night with 11 carries for 148 yards and scored two touchdowns on the ground. He also finished 9-for-13 passing for 96 yards.

Dave Jagow added 56 yards on nine rushes and Ben Hart followed with 61 yards on eight carries. Both added touchdown runs for the Highlanders (2-1, 2-0).

“The important thing is that we won, but we still made a lot of mistakes,” admitted Adams coach Tony Patritto. “There’s still a lot for us to work on right now.”

Lathrup (0-3, 0-2) scored a late touchdown to spoil the shutout.

Adams will visit Oak Park next Friday.

“Oak Park is playing very well right now, so there’s a lot of things that we need to clean up,” said Patritto. “We have some big games coming up and we have to start eliminating those mistakes.”
