Farmington rallies past Oxford; Harrison blanks Stoney Creek

OXFORD — Farmington showcased some flair for the dramatic Friday night.

The Falcons scored with 46 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to hand Oxford its first loss of the season, 32-31, in OAA White Division play.

Trailing 31-24 inside the final minute, Bryan Green scored on a 5-yard run and Connor Mohr hauled in the two-point conversion pass from Chris Morgan for the game-winning points for Farmington (2-1, 1-1).

Oxford’s Prescott Line finished with four rushing touchdowns, giving him 14 on the year, and his last came with 2:50 left to put the Wildcats (2-1, 1-1) up by seven at 31-24.  Oxford could not sustain the momentum and lead.

Farmington led 24-7 at the half. Jordan Degreffenreed and Morgan had touchdown runs of 4 and 1 yards to push Farmington ahead, 14-7. Green returned a kickoff 98 yards for paydirt, while Andy Hills drilled a 45-yard field goal in the first half for the Falcons.

Line also scored on a runs of 43, 14 and 1 yards and finished with 200 rushing yards. Mike Kitchner also booted a 26-yard field goal for the Wildcats, who defeated Lake Orion and Southfield Lathrup in convincing fashion the first two weeks of the season.

FARMINGTON HARRISON 37, ROCHESTER STONEY CREEK 0: Top-ranked Harrison made quick work of the Cougars, feasting on the visitors with a 37-point outburst in the first half in this lopsided OAA White Division game.

Jake Vento led the attack, finishing 9-for-10 passing for 230 yards with two touchdown passes and one receiving touchdown for Harrison (3-0, 2-0).

Gairus Coleman (6-yard TD catch), Mario Ojemudia (blocked punt for a safety), Lamarr Marshall (67-yard TD pass to Vento), Devin Funchess (69-yard touchdown catch) and Ed Huckleby (37-yard TD sprint) also capped off scoring drives for Harrison.

Harrison rushed for 201 total yards, while Aaron Burbridge had 77 receiving yards for the Hawks.

Stoney Creek slipped to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in league play.
