Lapeer West blanks Brandon, 27-0

ORTONVILLE — Lapeer West scored in all four quarters Friday and handed host Ortonville Brandon its first loss of the season, 27-0, in flint Metro League play.

The Panthers scored seven in the first quarter and 10 in the second frame for a 17-0 halftime advantage. Lapeer West tacked on seven more in the third stanza and three points in the fourth period

Zeshawn Jones scored two touchdowns, one on the ground and another in the air, to pace the Panthers. Jones scored on a 3-yard run in the first quarter and hauled in a 22-yard TD strike from quarterback Hunter Sharrard in the third quarter.

Chad Ferguson added an 8-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter, while Kyle Sailes was 3-for-3 on extra points and booted field goals of 20 and 29 yards, respectively, for the Panthers.

Parker finished with three catches for 54 yards and Cullen Turczyn rushed for 49 yards on eight carries for West (2-1, 2-1). Nathaniel Page and Luke Knickerbocker had two sacks apiece for the Panthers.

Shane Mahaffy was 18-for-36 passing for 168 yards and Dylan Everett hauled in six catches for 66 yards for Brandon (2-1, 2-1).
