Warriors drub Robert Morris, 9-0
LAKE COUNTY, Ill. — Rochester College scored early and often Wednesday in delivering a 9-0 blow to host Robert Morris University Wednesday in a non-league women’s soccer match.
Junior Jessica Penny (St. Clair Shores Lakeview) netted the hat trick to pace the Warriors. Freshmen Jessica Fill (Flint/Burton Faithway Christian) and Emily Guirey (Berkley/Royal Oak Shrine Catholic) added two goals apiece, while seniors Carlee Barackman (Plymouth) and Heidie Schwew (Madison Heights / Sterling Heights Life Summit Home School) netted singles goals apiece.
RC coach Todd Stank was pleased with his team’s offensive proficiency
“In the first half we did a good job of turning the defense around and finding the seams in the middle of the field,” said Stank. “In the second half, I felt our work rate improved and we concentrated on exploring the outside of the pitch. Our opponents gave us a spirited game and worked hard until the final whistle.”
