BOYS SOCCER: No. 3 Colts trip up Northsmen; Athens down No. 7 Stevenson
TROY— Seven different players scored goals and Troy made a statement by pounding Grosse Pointe North 7-0 Saturday in non-conference boys soccer play.
Troy (11-1-0) scored three goals in the first half and tacked on four more goals in the second half. Allan Wang, Filip Buniewicz and Mitchell Judi scored in the first half, while A.J. Kalina, David Heicher, Brandon Ridele and Willie Maddox scored in the second half.Ian Fox drew two assists.
Matt Smolinski, Craig Duggan and Andrew Farran shared the team’s eighth shutout of the season.
TROY ATHENS 3, LIVONIA STEVENSON 1: Athens broke a 1-1 stalemate at the half with a pair of second-half goals to win this non-conference game Saturday over seventh-ranked Stevenson.
Max Klitke scored twice, including the game winner, and Patrick Pale also scored for the Red Hawks (8-3-1). Alex Serwatka and Adam Antosh picked up assists and Brett Schmitz and Sam Ward shared the win in goal for the Red Hawks.
Jordan Smith scored for Stevenson.
