TUESDAY’S VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Clarkston sweeps Oxford; Lutheran Northwest rolls over Inter-City Baptist

CLARKSTON — Behind a balanced attack, Clarkston remained unbeaten atop the OAA Red Division volleyball standings with a 25-11, 25-18, 30-28 victory Tuesday over visiting Oxford.

The Class A fourth-ranked Wolves (28-1-0, 5-0) had to keep the upstart Wildcats at bay despite the third game combining for 58 points between the two schools.

Rachel Dickerson had 11 kills and Stephanie Marani had eight kills and four blocks for Clarkston. Maggie Lightfoot had 24 digs for Clarkston (28-1, 5-0 OAA Red). Katie Bearse had nine kills for Oxford (13-12-2).

ROCHESTER HILLS LUTHERAN NORTHWEST 25-25-25, ALLEN ARK INTER-CITY BAPTIST 15-18-19: The Crusaders swept the Chargers, a school listed as honorable mention in the Class D poll, in this MIAC Blue Division match. Haley Todd had seven kills and two aces and Abbey Looker had 17 assists for Northwest (9-8-1, 2-3). Stephanie Smith slammed seven kills for the Crusaders.

AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 25-25-25, SOUTHFIELD LATHRUP 21-17-11: Avondale remained perfect in the OAA White Division with this sweep of the Chargers Tuesday.  Marissa Aiello had seven kills and Daira Gaffke added six kills for Avondale (13-18-1, 4-0).

CLARKSTON EVEREST COLLEGIATE 25-25-25, WEST BLOOMFIELD JEWISH ACADEMY: The Mountaineers climbed above five hundred with their seventh win of the season. Collegiate (7-5-1), a first-year program, picked up 32 aces as a team to sweep the Jaguars.

FARMINGTON 25-25-25, ROCHESTER ADAMS 23-22-17: Farmington cruised past host AdamsTuesday for this OAA Red Division win. Kelli Young slammed 10 kills and Sarah Gutknecht had eight kills for Farmington (13-4-3, 3-1). Kate Rosinski had seven kills and Allie Recchia had 29 assists for Adams (8-12-2, 1-4).

WATERFORD OUR LADY OF THE LAKES 25-25-25, DETROIT CRISTO REY 10-9-10: the host Lakers wasted littlen time, sweeping Cristo Rey in a match that last only 45 minutes. Kali Bagley had eight assists five aces and four digs to lead WOLL. Gabby Troy had seven aces, Angela Ludlow had three kills and Denise Valent had two aces and four digs for WOLL (26-16-0).
