Oakland’s Jensen garners weekly SL swimming honor

ELMHURST, Ill. – Oakland’s Anders Jensen earns Summit League Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honors for his performance against Eastern Michigan, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.  This is the first weekly award of the season for Jensen and he is the fourth different Golden Grizzly on the men’s team to win the award.

Jensen, a native of Copenhagen, Denmark, won his third career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week award after helping the Golden Grizzlies defeat Eastern Michigan, 182-116.  He won the 200-yard butterfly touching the wall at 1:52.96, the second-best league time this season and finished the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:49.26, the top time in the league.  Jensen also finished second in the 200 individual medley (1:56.26) and was a member of the first-place 200 Medley Relay team (1:33.36).

The Oakland men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will be in the pool on Dec. 2-3 as they will compete in the Eastern Michigan Invitational at Jones Natatorium in Ypsilanti, Mich.
