FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Meghan Bray was selected on The All-Summit League First Team and Taylor Humm was selected to the All-Summit League Freshman Team as announced by the league office at the tournament banquet on Friday.

Bray earns her second career All-Summit League selection while Humm earns her first honor.

“I am very proud of Meghan (Bray) and Taylor (Humm) for their All-Summit League awards,” said head coach Rob Beam. “Taylor has had a great freshman season and Meghan is a dynamic player who impacts our team in so many ways.”

Bray is in the league’s top-10 in kills with 3.49 per set and points with 3.87 per set.  She leads the team with 370 kills and is second on the team in digs averaging 3.28 per set.  Bray is also tied for the team lead in aces with 23.  This is Bray’s second career league selection as she was selected to the All-Summit League freshman team in 2009.  Bray is the sixth OU player to be named to the All-Summit League team and the third player to be named to the first team.

“Meghan is one of the finest all-around players I have ever coached and I am thrilled for her that The Summit League coaches recognized her with a first team selection,” added Beam.

Humm played in 70 sets over 23 matches in 2011.  She ranked fourth on the team in kills per set averaging 2.39 and third on the team in digs per set averaging 3.20.   She becomes the fourth Golden Grizzlies standout in the last three years to earn the honor.  She joins Audrey Wilson who won last season while Bray and Brittany Holbrook won in 2009.

“Taylor has brought stability to our ball control and a punch to our offense,” said Beam.
