GRAMBLING, La. – After a pair of losses to power conference schools Alabama and Arkansas, Oakland University got the chance to beat up someone its own size Saturday.

Travis Bader scored a game-high 17 points and Corey Petros added 16 points as Oakland cruised to a 30-point win over Grambling State 75-45, on Saturday inside Fred C. Hobdy Arena.

“I thought we started slow, but picked it up in the second half,” said OU coach Greg Kampe. “We challenged them to get four straight stops in the second half and we came up with three. Corey (Petros) had another great game and is averaging over 10 rebounds a game through his first three.”

Reggie Hamilton also reached double figures for the Golden Grizzlies with 12 points. OU trailed early but seized control over the final 11 minutes of the first half by outscoring the Tigers 26-10 and taking a 33-19 lead and never looked back.

OU will face Houston (3-0) in its fourth consecutive road game at 8:30 p.m. ET inside Hofheinz Pavilion. The game will air on WDFN-AM (1130) with Mario Impemba (play-by-play) and Scott MacDonald (color).
