Lapeer slips past Bruins

TROY — Lapeer Home School outscored Troy Bethany Christian 24-14 in the second half Monday to post a 42-35 non-conference victory over the Bruins.

Lapeer (3-0) led 13-7 after the first quarter, only to see Bethany Christian go on a 14-5 run in the second quarter to build a 21-18 lead at the half.

Josiah Byer scored 16 points to lead Lapeer. Mark Gabryel added 12 points and Luk Gabryel twined 10 points for the Soldiers.

Tyler Parsons led Bethany Christian (2-2) with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Daniel Sprankle and Ajay Solomon scored six points apiece for the Bruins.
