Oakland’s Hamilton named Summit League Co-Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. –
Oakland’s Reggie Hamilton was named Summit League Co-Player of the Week for his performance during the week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4, as announced by the league office on Monday. Hamilton shares the award with South Dakota State guard Nate Wolters.

Hamilton, a native of Chicago, Ill., earned his third career honor and first of the season after averaging 23.0 points, 6.0 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 4.0 steals as Oakland won three games to extend its winning streak to six straight victories.  In the nationally televised 89-81 win over Tennessee, Hamilton scored a career-high 35 points, including a career-best 15-for-15 from the free throw line, while adding six rebounds and three assists.

In The Summit League opener against South Dakota, he totaled 16 points and a season-high nine assists in 29 minutes and followed that performance with 18 points, six assists, and three rebounds against UMKC. For the week, Hamilton was 28-of-29 (97 percent) at the foul line, shot 50 percent from the field, including 5-of-10 from beyond the arc.

The team will be on the floor on Wednesday as they take on Ohio starting at 7 p.m. in the Athletics Center O’rena.
