BOYS SKIING

Clarkston

HEAD COACH: Mike Foyteck

LAST SEASON’S DUAL RECORD: 9-0 Pine Knob Division.

DIVISIONAL: First at Pine Knob Divisional (51 points).

REGIONAL: First at Mt. Holly regional (54 points).

SEMSL: Third (85 points).

STATE FINALS: Second at Division 1 state finals (81 points).

KEY RETURNEES: Grant Huber, sr.; Brent Vanitallie, sr.; Ryan Callahan, soph.; Lance Holsbeke, jr.; Alex McIntosh, jr.; Evan Trout, sr. Nathan Rodgers, sr.

KEY NEWCOMERS: Derek Vanitallie, fr.; Ben Schuster, soph.

KEY LOSSES: None.

NOTABLES: This should be one of Clarkston’s top teams to date, as the entire top six returns from last year’s state runner-up squad. Expect the Wolves to contend at every meet they enter this season and win the Pine Knob Division once again.

Lake Orion

HEAD COACH: Derek Delzer, fifth season.

LAST SEASON’S DUAL RECORD: 6-3 Pine Knob Division.

DIVISIONAL: Third at Pine Knob Divisional (130.5 points).

KEY NEWCOMERS: Connor Powell, soph.; Stan Betend, soph.

KEY LOSSES: Michael Roberts, Alex Roberts, Greg Thelen, Tyler Dragoo.

NOTABLES: Five of the top nine racers are back this season, which should aid the Dragons; chances of remaining in the top half of the Pine Knob Division and perhaps challenge for a state finals berth come mid-February.

KEY LOSSES: Alex Rink, Mike Sewell.

NOTABLES: Five of the top seven racers are back this season, so the Irish could be one of the better teams at Pine Knob this season, although not a likely  challenger to favorites Clarkston and Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood.

Rochester

HEAD COACH: Not available.

LAST SEASON’S DUAL RECORD: 1-8 Pine Knob Division.

DIVISIONAL: Ninth at Pine Knob Divisional (315 points).

Rochester Adams-Stoney Creek Unified.

HEAD COACH: Pete Driscoll.

LAST SEASON’S DUAL RECORD: 4-4 Pine Knob Division.

DIVISIONAL: Fifth at Pine Knob Divisional (148.5 points).

Clarkston

HEAD COACH: Mike Foyteck

LAST SEASON’S DUAL RECORD: 6-3 Pine Knob Division.

DIVISIONAL: Seventh at Pine Knob Divisional (232 points).
