Lakes edges Cabrini; Lutheran Northwest downs Inter-City Baptist

WATERFORD — After building a 34-30 lead through three quarters of play, Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes withstood Allen Park Cabrini’s 8-5 run which came up one point shy of stunning the defending Class D state champion Lakers.

Lakes held on for a 39-38 CHSL victory.

Danielle Lollo scored 18 of her team’s 38 points for Cabrini.
Carlee Cottrell scored 14 for Lakes, which led 16-13 after the first quarter and 24-22 at the half. Tori Duffey and Anna Robb both added seven points for WOLL (5-1, 2-0).
ROCHESTER HILLS LUTHERAN NORTHWEST 52, ALLEN PARK INNER-CITY BAPTIST 38: The Crusaders outscored the Chargers in each of the first three quarters to upend Inter-City in this MIAC Blue Division victory.

Northwest led 16-11 after the first quarter and 26-19 at the half. A 17-4 third quarter run build a 20-point lead (43-23) entering the fourth quarter. Inter-City Baptist (4-2, 0-1) closed with a 15-9 run but was too much in a hole.

Kim Lepor led the Crusaders (5-1) with a game-high 20 points. Abbey Looker added 14 points and Lauren Church chipped in seven points for the Crusaders.

Jillian Kraatz, Rachel Muscat and Ashley Raburn all scored eight points for Inter-City Baptist, which hurt its own cause by going 6-for-18 from the foul line.
