MEN’S BASKETBALL: Warriors cruise past rival Marygrove

ROCHESTER HILLS — Rochester College loaded up with schools much larger during the months of November and December, and that included several games against NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III schools.

The Warriors have been on a roll ever since.

Rochester College captured its eighth straight win Wednesday at Rochester High, rolling up a resounding 62-44 non-conference men’s basketball victory.

Rochester College has not lost since a mid-December contest at Division I Austin Peay and are unbeaten on the year on its home court at Rochester High.

Dramel Hogan led Rochester College (16-6), scoring 14 of his game-high 22 points in the second half to go along with eight rebounds. Rick Doran (Clinton Township Chippewa Valley) added his fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Sean Mattia (Sterling Heights) followed with 12 points and Brad Norman (Bay City Central) also reached double figures with 10 points for the Warriors.

Daryll Dixon led Marygrove with 12 points. Chris Sinagoga added nine points, Ked Kevin Dunaj scored seven with seven rebounds.

Rochester College led 33-23 at the half and outscored Marygrove 31-21 after halftime. The Warriors, who opened the game with three-pointers from Mattia and Stephen Henning (Rochester High) for a quick 6-0 lead, never trailed in the contest.

RC led by as many as 22 points in the second half.

The Warriors travel to Kuyper College next, Jan. 21. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
