SOFTBALL: Troy sweeps Rochester Adams

ROCHESTER HILLS — A year ago Rochester Adams swept Troy off the softball field. The Colts returned the favor Tuesday.

Troy posted a double-header OAA crossover sweep, winning Game by a 7-2 count before taking the nightcap, 9-3.

Kamryn LaCarter finished a perfect 4-fior-4 and scored a pair of runs in the opener, while Jessie Pappas was 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Colts, who broke open the game with three in the fifth and one in the sixth after leading 3-1 through four innings.

Jessie Pappas earned the win from the circle for Troy.

Kristen Novack had two hits and an RBI for Adams (1-7) in Game 1.

In the nightcap,

LaCarter came back to spark the offense in Game 2, as the senior slapped three hits and drove in a run. Katy Krajenta drove home three runs on the strength of two hits. She also helped her own cause by scattering three eight hits against three strikeouts and three walks for the Colts (6-2).
