TUESDAY’S GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Avondale trips up West Bloomfield; Holly rolls over Lapeer East; Eagles keep FBAC lead

AUBURN HILLS — Thanks to a 29-16 first half, Auburn Hills Avondale kept pace in the Oakland Activities Association Red Division girls basketball race with a 48-41 victory over West Bloomfield.
Quennece Garrison had 14 points and Hannah Little scored 13 for Avondale (7-3, 6-1).

Sydni Davis scored 22 and followed with six points for the Lakers (6-5, 1-5), who held a 25-19 edge in the second half but could not complete the comeback.
HOLLY 50, LAPEER EAST 15: Holly moved into second place in the Flint Metro League with this 35-point rout of the Eagles Tuesday.

 

Allyssa Copley scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Bronchos (10-2, 8-1), off to one of their best starts in school history. Jessica Beeler added eight points for Holy.

The Bronchos took off in the first half, leading 9-0 at the end of the first quarter and 24-3 at the half. By the end of the third quarter, the Bronchos were up comfortably 38-5.

 

Alexis Watcott scored just six to lead Lapeer East (0-12, 0-9).

ROCHESTER HILLS CHRISTIAN 36, CLINTON TOWNSHIP FAITH CHRISTIAN 33: Rochester Hills Christian stalled out the final two minutes of the game and held on for this FBAC Red Division road win to remain in first place in the league.
Jena Porter led the way with 12 points and nine rebounds for the Eagles (11-3, 6-0). Allise Dubay followed with 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists and Kindra Armitage had six points and eight rebounds for Rochester Hills Christian, which is two wins from a back-to-back conference championship.

Emily Hinsenkamp scored 15 points for Faith Christian (6-2, 3-3).

CLARKSTON EVEREST COLLEGIATE 43, DETROIT CRISTO REY 22: It was all Everest on Tuesday, as the Mountaineers rolled to the convincing non-league win.

Mary Jill Allen  led the way with 11 points and Megan Luttinen scored 10 for Everest, which led 28-14 at the half.

Lacellia Pruitt scored 13 for Cristo Rey.
