THURSDAY’S GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Everest Collegiate, Rochester Hills, Notre Dame Prep all record cage victories

CLARKSTON — Behind a sterling defensive effort that held West Bloomfield Jewish Academy to single digits in each quarter, Clarkston Everest Collegiate rolled to a 42-21 CHSL crossover victory Thursday over the Jaguars.

Everest Collegiate (8-4) led 11-4 after the first quarter and 19-13 at the half. A 9-5 edge in the third quarter and a 14-3 run in the fourth stanza helped the Mountaineers pull away for the 21-point triumph.

Mary Jill Allen scored a game-high 16 points and both Megan Luttinen and Sarina Nallamothu scored nine apiece for Everest.

ROCHESTER HILLS CHRISTIAN 41, LAPEER FAITH HOME SCHOOL 35: Rochester Hills Christian moved to 12-3 on the year with this non-league win Thursday. Jenna Porter scored 12 with eight rebounds to lead the Eagles. Allise Dubay added 10 points, seven steals and six assists, while Ashley Parker added seven points and nine rebounds.  Tina Caputo scored 17 and Kayla McKee added eight points for the Falcons (7-6).

PONTIAC NOTRE DAME PREP 57, FERNDALE 45: The Fighting Irish stepped outside of CHSL play Thursday to record this non-league win. Kiaya Bowman and Sarah Lewallen both scored 15 points each for NDP, while Lexie Cipa twined 10 points for the Irish.

Micaela Ellis scored 16 and Janecea Jenkins added 13 points for Ferndale (4-6).
