TUESDAYS BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Holly holds off Clio; Oxford, Athens, Clarkston all roll

HOLLY — Behind an 18-16 fourth quarter, Holy kept pace in the Flint Metro League boys basketball race with a 49-47 victory Tuesday over Clio.
Nic Stoll scored a game-high 19 points for Holly. Logan Spiker added nine points for the Bronchos, who were just 9-of-17 for the foul line.

Holly (10-2, 9-2) led 12-9 after eight minutes of play and 20-17 at the half. Holly used a 21-14 surge in the third quarter for a 41-31 advantage before Clio closed with a 16-8 run but just ran out of time.

Tyler Centilli scored 15 and Zach Borowski chipped in with 13 points for Clio (2-10, 0-10).
OXFORD 67, HAZEL PARK 52: Oxford built a 31-24 lead at the half and slowly pulled away for the OAA Blue Division win.
Mark Hazelwood scored 25 for Oxford. Mike Kitchner added 23 points a Jacques Toussaint followed with seven points, six assists and five steals for the Wildcats (9-4, 3-1). Zach Raisch chipped in with six points and six rebounds for Oxford, which made 16-for-19 foul shots.

Oxford outscored the Vikings, 36-28 in the second half.

Damon Hannon scored 15 for Hazel Park (4-8, 0-4).

TROY ATHENS 73, ROCHESTER STONEY CREEK 55: Athens rebounded from a loss to Rochester last Friday to post this 18-point OA Blue Division win.

Tim Freiman scored 12 and Jeff Koch and Caleb McIntosh both added 11 points each for the Red Hawks (10-3, 2-2).

Stephan Makowski scored 11 and Charlie Carson added nine points for Stoney Creek (0-0-13, 0-4), which finished just 12-for-25 from the foul line.

 

CLARKSTON 70, WEST BLOOMFIELD 41: Clarkston raced out to a 35-25 lead at the half and ccruised to a 29-point win in OA Red Division play to remain unbeaten in the conference.

Jordan Dasuqi scored 22 to lead a balanced effort for the Wolves (13-1, 5-0). Mitch Baenaiger and Nick Tatu both added 10 points and Chance Huth twined six for Clarkston.

Brandon Cole scored 10 and Daryn Byrd added 10 points for West Bloomfield (4-8, 1-5).

CLARKSTON EVEREST COLLEGIATE 39, RIVERVIEW GABRIEL RICHARD 27: Everest moved to 10-3 overall, its best start in school history, and 5-1 in the CHSL in recording this 12-point win Tuesday.

Blake Beauchmap scored 2- and Richie Cross buried a trio of three-pointers and added nine points for the Mountaineers. Donald Allen also scored nine for Everest, which led 20-15 at the half and 26-17 through three quarters of play.

Leo VanDeneede scored six for Richard.

WATERFORD OUR LADY OF THE LAKES 37, WEST BLOOMFIELD FRANKEL JEWISH ACADEMY 27:
Viny Puma scored 10 and both Josh Grenn and Garrett Ross added nine points apiece I n this CHSL win Tuesday.

Mike Oppenheim added 12 points for the Jaguars, who were held to just six second-half points and scoreless in the fourth quarter. The two teams were tied at the half and 27-27 through three quarters of play. .

AUBURN HILLS OAKLAND CHRISTIAN 48, BIRMINGHAM ROEPER 36: John Van Noord scored a game-high 14 points, making foru 3-pointers, to lead gthe Lancers to the MIAC Blue Division win.

Josh Peterson added 11 points and Charles Hayden scored six for the Lancers (9-3, 4-3), who led 27-16 at the half.

Abe Hashwi scor3d 11 for Roeper (1-11, 0-6).
