DAILY POLL: Are student sections back on the steady rise?

INSIDE YOUR GYMNASIUM — Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, one of the most common growing trends in the area was large and crazy student sections.

Students, faculty and even alumni would congregate in bleachers at a variety of high school sports events, often dressed up in some type of predetermined theme with props.

The student sections grew in full force until the 2000s, when many administration members at various school deemed that these student sections were inappropriate and there numbers slowly diminished.

There seems to be a revival.

ALL DECKED OUT: Members of Oxford High School's "Wildcats Nation" are often found dressing in different themes for basketball games at the school.

Several high schools, many with newer regimes in administration, have allowed those student sections to come back, under a watchful, and they have begun to grow once again. There is strength in numbers.

After all, what is really wrong with a bunch of students dressed up in the bleachers for a basketball game cheering and having a good time in unity?

So that begs the question: Who has the best student section?

In the www.northoaklandsports.com coverage area?

Oakland County?

The state of Michigan?

And beyond?

Throughout the rest of the school year, Digital Daily www.northoaklandsports.com will run the poll for who is tops? The largest…The most origin…The loudest…The most colorful…The most craziest student section around.

Feel free to get all decked out in gear for your school or alma mater. Pack the house. Get wild and crazy. Be creative.

Feel free to vote as many times as you would like, and register and comment on the bottom of this thread of any of the other 15,000-plus threads in this digital publication.
