ROCHESTER — Waterford Mott has proven that it can score goals in bunches out on the ice this season. The Corsairs were back at it again Thursday night at the Onyx.

Mot climbed over the five-hundred mark with a 7-4 boys hockey non-league triumph over Rochester United.

The Corsairs (10-9-1) led 3-1 after the first period, held a 4-3 edge after two periods of play and outscored United 3-1 in the final frame.

Brent Boudreau staked Rochester (6-11-1) to the early 1-0 lead, only to see Mott soar back with goals by Max Vancil, Scott Cuhrell and Austin Sereno.

Christina Corona made it 4-1 for the Corsairs, only to see Rochester storm back with two goals from Kevin Kurzeja, leaving the score at 4-3 heading into the third period.

Chase Sereno scored what proved to be the game-winner for Mott with his team’s fifth goal to open the third period. Cuthrell and Tyler Vaughn made it 7-3 before Jacob Kimmel notched a late taly for Rochester to cap the scoring.

Scott Koenigbauser and Jon Furton combined for 23 saves in goal for Mot, while Gabe Stroe and Brody Blair combined for 25 saves for Rochester.

Mott outshot Rochester United 32-27.
