The Oakland Activities Association Red Division will begin its boys hockey postseason tournament Friday night at the Onyx in Rochester.

Top-seed Clarkston will tangle with Rochester Stoney Creek at 6 p.m; third-seeded Farmington Hills Unified will face No. 7 Rochester United at 6:15 p.m.; No. 2 Lake Orion will tangle with sixth-seeded Birmingham Unified at 8:30 p.m. and fourth-seeded Farmington will face fifth-seeded Oxford at 8:45 p.m.

Second-round games will take place on Feb. 18 at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena, with the final round games al taking place Feb. 25 at the Birmingham Ice Arena.

Clarkston gained the No. 1 seed on the tie-breaker over Lake Orion, the defending tournament champion.

Lake Orion and Clarkston played to a 1-1 draw two weeks ago, and the overtime period played out that night did not count towards the league standings, where the by-laws say that there are no overtime periods for regular season OAA division games.

Lake Orion scored a goal in the overtime for a 2-1 win, but the overtime period was later called back due to league rules. Both schools finished 5-0-2 in league play.

Complete brackets and standings are found on the OAA’s hockey website at www.oaahockey.net.
