HOCKEY: Troy exercises demons by skating past rival Athens in regional opener

| February 28, 2012 | Comments (0)

TROY — A year ago, Troy saw its high school hockey season come to an end in a rough fashion.

The Colts lost 1-0 in double overtime in a Division 1 pre-regional contest at the Troy Sports Center.

Which made it even worse was the fact the Colts lost to arch rival Troy Athens.

Well, a year later and Troy was given the redemption of that 1-0 loss to Athens on the same ice — and the Colts responded.

Three different Colts scored goals as Troy posted a 3-1 victory over the Red Hawks.

Troy will face Berkley-Ferndale Unified Wednesday night at 7 p.m. against.

James Nahikian , Trevor Temple and Brett St. Cyr all tallied for Troy.
