THURSDAY’S GIRLS SOCCER: Troy edges Rochester on Cabelof’s goal; Adams blanks Stoney Creek; Clarkston shuts out Oxford

TROY — Jennifer Cabelof scored the game-s only goal Thursday as Division 1 top-ranked Troy remained unbeaten with a 1-0 victory over Rochester in OAA Red Division play.

Erin Wrubel picked up the assist and Alison Holland made five saves for Troy (4-0-0, 3-0-0).

Stephanie Hebner made eight saves for Rochester (3-1-0, 2-1-0).

ROCHESTER ADAMS 2, STONEY CREEK 0: After a scoreless half, Kyle Nylen and Mackenzie Barber both scored goals in leading division 1 fourth-ranked Adams to the OAA Red division win. Merlin Beckwith assisted on both goals and Lexy Lewandowski made two saves for the Highlanders (2-0-0, 2-0-0). Halee Michel made seven saves for the Cougars (2-2-0, 1-2-0).

CLARKSTON 2, OXFORD 0: Lindsey Adams scored in the first half and Lisa Lyons added a second-half goal for Clarkston. Katie Miller made two saves for the Wolves (2-2-1) and Pearl Brochu assisted on the first goal. Backup goalkeeper Madison Littman mad five saves in a losing effort for Oxford, making five saves for the Wildcats (3-1-0), who were missing three starters.

TROY ATHENS 2, AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 0: Kendall Wachowski had a goal and an assist to pace Athens to the OAA Red Division win over the Yellowjackets.  Liz Abro added the other goal for Athens (2-2-0, 1-2-0 OAA Red). Avondale slipped to 0-3-0, 0-2-0.

LAKE ORION 3, WATERFORD KETTERING 3: Both schools scored goal in the first half and added two second-half goals in this non-league contest. Hannah Huff scoffed the first goal of the game and tied it late for Kettering (1-1-1), while  Allison Bicknell also scored for the Captains. Tailer Roscoe had seven saves for Kettering. Hannah Cady, Erin Chlebek and Hannah Kish scored for Lake Orion, while Cady and Chlebek also drew assists for Lake Orion (3-3-1), which picked up three saves for Emily Purdy.
