COLLEGE SIGNINGS: Northwest’s Sheehan to Olivet College; Bethany Christian’s Tomkowiak chooses Spring Arbor

ROCHESTER HILLS — Colin Sheehan of Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest has committed to play football for Olivet College in 2012.

A senior wide-receiver/defensive back, Sheehan is hoping to help Olivet college turn its football season around after it has posted just a 2-38 record the past four seasons.

Sheehan was an All-MAC First Team and All-Area Honorable Mention pick last fall for the Crusaders, who finished 5-4.He is also a starter on Northwest’s baseball team that reached the Division 4 state quarterfinals last June.

TOMKOWIAK CHOOSES SPRING ARBOR

Troy Bethany Christian senior midfielder Anna Tomkowiak recently chose Spring Arbor University to continue her soccer career.

Tomkowiak is in her fourth season as a starter for the Bruins, who finished 9-3-0 last season, including 7-1 in the Fundamental Baptist Athletic conference, which the Bruins shared last season.

Tomkowiak also led her team in scoring with 19 goals last year and helped the Bruins capture the Michigan Association of Christian Schools state championship.

TERMARSCH TO HUNTINGTON

Auburn Hills Oakland Christian senior soccer player Rachel TerMarsch has signed with Division II Huntington University in Indiana.

 

TerMarsh, who also runs cross country in high school, was All-MIAC and All-Area Honorable Mention in 2011 and is expected to be one of her team’s top soccer players this spring.
