MONDAY’S LACROSSE ROUNDUP: Clarkston holds off Seaholm; Oxford thumps Walled Lake Unified

BIRMINGHAM — Clarkston opened the game open with a 6-3 scoring edge in the second period, then held on Monday for a 12-10 OAA Red Division road win over Birmingham Unified.

Sam Moore and Kevin O’Grady scored three goals each for the Wolves. Kevin Horton added two goals and two assists, Travis Craft had two goals and an assist and Mike Vanderweel and Jordan Kincaid (one assist) each added single goals for the Wolves (4-1, 2-0).

Adam Grohl made 11 saves on 21 attempts and Nick Demattia led the Clarkston defense with five groundballs and two takeaways.

Birmingham (3-4, 0-2) outshot Clarkston 21-19.

GIRLS LACROSSE

 OXFORD 17, WALLED LAKE UNIFIED 1: Oxford cruised to this non-league win Monday in taming Walled Lake Unified, another program in its infant stages. Emma Kimmel sparked the Wildcats with a four-goal effort. Madi Eischberger added three goals, Jordan Pieczinski, Kayce Calcaterra, Brenda Flasher, Brittany Basela,
and Abby Wrobel added two goals each and Brooklynn Allen provided five ground balls on the defensive end for Oxford.
