GIRLS LACROSSE: Bloomfield Hills outslugs Clarkston; Rochester cruises past Oxford
BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Bloomfield Hills Unified and Clarkston combined for 36 goals Thursday night. When the dust settled, Bloomfield Hills escaped with a wild 21-15 OAA Red Division victory over visiting Clarkston.
Bloomfield Hills led 11-7 at the half and outscored the Wolves 10-8 in the second half to prevail
Several players got caught in the scoring act for both team, as Bloomfield Hills’ Margaret Metzger led her team with three goals and two assists. EmmaMucci found the back of the net four times, while Christina Arens, Jessica Koolwick and Maria D’Angelo all scored one goal apiece. Elena Miller set the tab le with four assists for Bloomfield Hills.
Kadie Koolwick, Maddie Monahan, Blair Osgood, Thania Stavropoulos and Paige Tornow all had single tallies for Bloomfield Hills, while Annie Reed had six saves on 13 shots and Angelica Kunz had seven saves on 16 shots.
Stephanie Dellinger scored seven times for Clarkston. Lauren Sharkey scored three goals for the Wolves.
ROCHESTER 19, OXFORD 2: Rochester continued to dominate foes in the OAA White Division Wednesday, as they cruised past the Wildcats, who are in their first season as a varsity squad.
Freshman Jessica Leininger scored six goals for the Falcons (7-1-0, 3-0-0), giving her 29 goals in eight games. Kylie Gray added three goals, while Jordin Pardoski, Samantha Blair and Natalie Prisciandaro chipped in with two goals each.
The Falcons received single goals from Olivia Lord, Karoline Newer, Tara Kenny and Leah Mazzara
Jordan Pieczinski had two goals for Oxford (4-4, 1-2).
