TROY — Behind a 40-run outburst, Troy Athens finished unbeaten at the Athens Relays Softball Tournament Saturday to claim the title on its own diamond.

The Red Hawks downed Warren Mott (12-1), Bloomfield Hills Andover (23-4) and Southfield Christian (5-2) to prevail.

In its opener, Melissa Palmer was 4-for-4 with two RBI, six stolen bases and crossed the plate three times, while Haley Zemmer finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored, a three-run home run, a triple and four RBI.
