FRIDAY’S BOYS LACROSSE: Clarkston holds off Adams to inch closer to league title
CLARKSTON — Clarkston’ s boys lacrosse team is now one win away from clinching the coveted OAA Red Division title.
After finishing second in the league last season at 6-1-0, the Wolves moved to 6-0 with an 12-10 victory over host Rochester Adams Friday night.
Clarkston led 6-3 after the first quarter and 7-6 at the half. The Wolves outscored the Highlanders 5-4 in the second half and even held off Adams down the stretch.
Travis Craft scored six goals to lead Clarkston (8-2-0, 6-0-0). Kevin O’Grady added two goals and two assists, Kevin Horton scored twice, Jordan Kincaid had a goal and four assists, Sam Moore scored a goal and Reid Kaminski dished out two assists for Clarkston.
Adam Grohl made 11 saves for the Wolves, who held a 24-21 shots edge in the game. Nick Demattia, Ethan Frick, Evan Kneisel and A.J. Schlaff had a combined 10 ground balls and seven takeaways for Clarkston.
Mike Fisher scored three goals with two assists fo lead Adams (5-7, 2-4-0). Kevin Hurzeja added three goals, Jeff Andrews had a goal and an assists and Mat Wozniak and Christian Wolanin added single goals for the Highlanders.
