TUESDAY’S GIRLS SOCCER: Rochester upsets Troy; WOLL remains unbeaten

ROCHESTER HILLS — Aubrey Konal scored the goal and Rochester’s defense made it stand in a 1-0 OAA Red Division girls soccer upset of Troy Tuesday.

Konal’s goal was unassisted in the 36th minute for Rochester (5-4-2, 3-2-1).

Stephanie Hebner made 11 saves for Rochester, while Alison Holland registered four saves for Troy (9-2-0, 5-2-0)

It marked just the second loss of the season for Division 1 third-ranked Troy, which fell two games behind Rochester Adams in the league standings.

WATERFORD OUR LADY OF THE LAKE/CLARKSTON EVEREST COLLEGIATE UNIFIED 5, ROYAL OAK SHRINECATHOLIC 1:  After a 1-1 draw at the half, WOLL-Everest outscored Shrine 4-0mnin the second half to claim the CHSL win.

Anna Robb scored for WOLL and Erin Scott converted a penalty kick for Shrine in the opening half. In the second half, Lindsay Straw, Robb, Jessica Parry and Brianna Topolewski tallied for the Lakers.

Megan Luttinen made six saves for the win in goal for WOLL (9-0-2).

AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 2, TROY ATHENS 1: Jessica Angell scored both goals in leading the Yellowjackets to the OAA Red Division upset of Athens. Jessica Creech and Sarah Sonego had assists for Avondale (3-10-0, 1-8-0), while Abby Oliver made10 saves for the Yellowjackets.

Liz Abro scored for Athens (4-7-1, 2-6-1).
