GIRLS SOCCER: Lakes-Everest keeps unbeaten season alive, drains Harbor Beach in regional semifinals
BURTON — Still unbeaten.
Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes-Clarkston Everest Collegiate showed no signs of slowing down Tuesday, recovering little resistance in an 8-0 shutout of Harbor Beach in a Division 4 regional semifinal at Burton Atherton.
Lindsey Straw scored bookend goals and both Rachelle Topolewski and Ava Doetsch also scored two goals to pace the Lakers’ vaunted attack. Anna Robb and Brianna Topolewski scored the other goals for Lakes-Everest, which improved to 15-0-2.
Megan Luttinen turned aside three shots for the team’s ninth shutout of the season.
The Lakers, just a fifth-year program, advanced to the regional finals for the third straight season.
