MIAC FOOTBALL: Lancers pick up forfeit win; Michigan Collegiate rolls Northwest

HAMTRAMCK — Auburn hills Oakland Christian learned Friday that it would win its season-opening game via forfeit.

The Lancers were slated to play at Hamtramck Friday night but were given notice that Hamtramck would not have enough players available for the contest due to disciplinary reasons of a large group of players.

Officially, the MHSAA will award Oakland Christian a 2-0 forfeit.

WARREN MICHIGAN COLLEGIATE 47, ROCHESTER HILLS LUTHERAN NORTHWEST 14: for the second straight season Michigan Collegiate left the hurt on the Crusaders.

Quarterback Rudy Hayes finished 11-or-20 passing for 263 yards to lead Michigan Collegiate. Teo Redding hauled in four catches for 170 yards with TD receptions for 52, 75 and 30 yards while he also had a 67-yard punt return for another touchdown.

Brian Jones added seven catches for 93 yards, while Kenneth Butler added four carries for 83 yards which included a 66-yard touchdown run. Perish Jordan also scored on a 5-yard run and Jamell Smith picked off three Northwest passes for the Cougars (1-0).

Nathan Drews had one passing and one rushing touchdown for Lutheran Northwest (0-1).
