GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Lapeer Faith sweeps Eagles; Powers Catholic outlasts Holly
ROCHESTER HILLS — Lapeer Faith Home School captured three of four games Wednesday to topple host Rochester Hills Christian, 3-1, in a non-league girls volleyball match.
The visiting Falcons captured Game 1 (25-14), Game 2 (25-13 and Game 4 (25-15), while RHC won Game 3 (25-20).
Ashley Parker with eight kills and Jenna Porter with seven kills in the losing effort for the Eagles (1-1-0).
FLINT POWERS CATHOLIC 25-25-23-23-15, HOLLY 16-17-25-25-11: Megan Piwowarski slammed seven kills with nine blocks and was 17-for-167 serving in a losing effort for Holly. Abby Lewandowski added six kills, Kate Nitowski had six kills was 19-for-19 serving with 17 digs, Adrienne Cheff had 16 assists out of 84 sets, Nicki Hiltner had 16 digs and 32 serve receives and Grace Vivanco had 20 serve receives for the Bronchos.
LINDEN TOURNAMENT: Holly finished 2-2 at the recent Linden Tournament. Megan Piwowarski and Abby Lewandowski each had 12 kills and Adrienne Cheff had 34 assists for the Bronchos. Holly picked up 12 aces as a team and served at a .900 clip. Katie Ordiway chipped I with 39 digs and 45 serve receives.
