BOYS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Klitzke pushes Athens past Clarkston; Lancers outslug Southfield Christian
TROY — Max Klitke continued his offensive tear during the boys soccer season’s first month.
The senior forward from Troy Athens collected two goals and an assists in the Red Hawks’ 3-0 OAA Red Division shutout of visiting Clarkston Tuesday night. Klitzke now has nine goals on the season.
Tyler Gasko also scored and Marcello Mancini drew an assist for Athens (7-2-0, 3-0-0). Brett 
Schmitz recorded his fourth shutout on three saves for the RedHawks, who held a 5-3 shots edge.
Harry Smith and Grant Gottas each made one save for Clarkston (6-5-0, 1-2-0)
AUBURN HILLS OAKLAND CHRISTIAN 5, SOUTHFIELD CHRISTIAN 4: Oakland Christian built a 5-2 lead midway through the second half and held on for the MIAC Blue Division triumph over the Eagles.
Ryan Hanson and Garrett Nimmo scored late to cut the deficit down to one goal for Southfield Christian. Nimmo and Aaron Harting also scored for the Eagles.
Christopher Polite and Daniel Smith scored two goals each and Phillip Benedict also scored for Oakland Christian, which led 4-2 at the half.
Stuart Sutherland made four saves for Oakland Christian (5-1-1, 3-1-0), while Andrew Manier had four stops for Southfield Christian (4-3-0, 1-3-0).
ROCHESTER ADAMS 0, BLOOMFIELD HILLS LAHSER 0: Grant Gibson made one save for host Adams in this OAA Red Division clash. Logan McDonald registered seven saves for Lahser (5-3-2, 0-2-1). Adams moved to 2-3-3 and 0-2-2 in conference play.
