WEDNESDAY’S GIRLS VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Notre Dame Prep downs AAGR; Swartz Creek tames Holly

PONTIAC — Behind Katherine Carlson’s 42-43 attacking night that included 24 kills, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep slammed Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard in four sets Wednesday, 25-20, 20-25, 25-13 and 25-16 in CHSL-AA Division girls volleyball play.

Dani McCormick added 14 kills in 39 tries with six aces. Jackie Vyskocil and Ellen Guerra contributed some key kills in the third set to help the Irish (18-3-1, 2-0) rebound after losing the second set.

SWARTZ CREEK 25-25-20-25, HOLLY 18-16-25-16: Swartz Creek slowly wore down Holly in the Flint Metro League clash Wednesday in Holly.

Abby Lewandowski had seven kills and Adrienne Cheff added 17 assists for Holly. Nicki Hiltner chipped in with 14 digs and Megan Piwowarski chipped in with seven blocks for the Bronchos, who served at a .950 clip in the loss.
