GIRLS SWIMMING ROUNDUP: Brandon edges Oxford

OXFORD — Brianna Tombaugh won a pair of open events and swam on two winning relays in leading Ortonville Brandon to a99-86 non-league girls swimming triupoh over Oxford.

Tombaugh swam to wins in both the 100 butterfly (1:13.06) and 100 backstroke (1:11.33) to lead the Blackhawks (2-1-0).

Robyn Neal added a win in the 50 free (27.39) and Sarah Boven won the 1-meter diving (11.80 points) for Brandon.

Neal, Tombaugh, Natalie Violassi and Nicki Violassi won the 200 medley relay (2:07.72) while, Katie Heines, Natalie Violassi, Neal and Tombaugh captured the 400 free relay (4:03.15).

Stephanie Kosaski, Amy Lung, Jessica Kneller and Heines won the 200 free relay (1:58.41) for Brandon.

For Oxford (1-2-0), Haley Kornburger won both the 200 frees (2:00.62) and 500 free (5:24.03). Taylor Curtis added a win in the 100 free (59.05), Elizabeth Wilkins touched first in the 100 breaststroke (1:21.08) and Sydney Liverance emerged as the victor in the 200 IM (2:38.78).
