TUESDAY’S BOYS SOCCER: Stoney Creek blanks Troy; Berkley edges Adams
ROCHESTER HILLS — Rochester Stoney Creek scored a pair of second half goals to upend Troy 2-0 in an OAA Red Division boys soccer match Tuesday.
The win helped the Cougars clinch third place in the OAA-Red with 12 points.
Adam Anderson scored off an assist from Scott Alampi, while Alampi notched an insurance tally unassisted for the Cougars (12-2-7, 3-1-3).
Matt Houghton made four saves for the shut out for Stoney Creek.
BERKLEY 2, AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 1: Berkley built a 2-0 lead in the second half and held on for this OAA White Division victory, thus claiming a share of the league title.
Eric Towns scored in the first half and John Ciaramitaro tallied off an assist from John Dinunzio for Berkley (13-4-2, 7-0-0).
Erik Koberstein tallied late for Avondale (10-5-0, 7-3-0).
Josh Schifman made 13 saves for Berkley. Ben Richter had 10 stops for Avondale.
TROY ATHENS 3, BLOOMFIELD HILLS LAHSER 1: Athens built a 1-0 halftime lead and added two goals after halftime to wrap up the OAA Red Division season unbeaten (6-0-1 in league play).
Patrick Pale tallied in the first half and Luis Anaya and Marcello Mancini also scored for Athens (11-4-2, ).
Kristian Rego scored for Lahser (8-7-3, 1-6-0).
Brett Schmitz made four saves for Athens, while Logan McDonald had 11 stops for Lahser.
