HOLLY— It may take a miracle, but Holly still has an outside chance of making the postseason.

The Bronchos pulled even at 4-4 with a 35-27 victory over visiting Ortonville Brandon Friday night in Flint Metro League football play.

Holly must defeat Lapeer East in Week 9 to go 5-4 and hope for an at-large berth.

Evin Papuga scored four touchdowns to pace Holly (4-4, 3-4), which racked up over 400 yards of offense against winless Brandon (0-8, 0-7).

Holly has now won four of its last five games after opening 0-3. The Bronchos defeated North Branch 39-20 last week and have averaged 36.2 points in their last five games.

Against Brandon, Holly grabbed a 12-0 lead after the first quarter and led 20-6 at the half. The winless Blackhawks were resilient with a 21-15 second half but could not complete a comeback in losing for the 10th time in their last 11 games.

Blake Nivelt had seven catches for 128 yards for Brandon and Andrew Derry had four catches for 53 yards for the Blackhawks. Nick Keller finished 19-for-29 for 224 passing yards, while Brandon only had 72 rushing yards.

Ryan Eldon had nine tackles and Nivelt added seven tackles for Brandon.
