CLARKSTON — Beating a team three times in one season is never easy.

Auburn Hills Oakland Christian accomplished that feat Wednesday against rival Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest, edging the Crusaders 3-1 in a Division 4 boys soccer district semifinal.

Daniel Smith scored all three goals for Oakland Christian. Chris Polite added two assists, while Scott Howard picked up one assist for the Lancers.

Stuart Sutherland made four saves for Oakland Christian, which outshot Northwest 11-5.

Oakland Christian will play for a district championship Friday at host Clarkston Everest Collegiate.
