BOYS BASKETBALL: Rochester Hills Christian rolls Lake Orion Baptist; Troy edges Lathrup
ROCHESTER HILLS — Behind three players in double figures, Rochester Hills Christian opened up FBAC play Thursday with a resounding 79-42 victory over Lake Orion Baptist in boys basketball action.
Junior guard Marquez Hatcher led the way for the Eagles (5-0) with a double-double, scoring a game-high 28 points with 10 rebounds. Aaron Berry added 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Josh Steiner had 14 points in the win for RHC.
Jason Noruk scored 14 and Mark Dewar scored 12 for Lake Orion Baptist (1-3, 0-1).
TROY 57, SOUTHFIELD LATHRUP 47: After winning the OAA White Division last season, Troy earned a promotion to the OAA Red Division this season.
The Colts opened up conference play on the right foot Thursday.
Three players scored in double figures as Troy posted a 10-point win. Ben Horvath scored 13, Chris Dorsey added 12 points and Zak Noor poured in 11 points for the Colts (1-1, 1-0).
Johnathan Williams scored a game-high 31 points for Lathrup (2-3, 0-1).
