GIRLS BASKETBALL: Oxford holds off Adams; Lathrup downs Stoney Creek in battle of unbeatens
ROCHESTER HILLS — Oxford and Rochester Adams came into Friday’s OAA white Division contest as the top two teams in the OAA White Division girls basketball standings. Oxford left the court as the sole unbeaten team in conference play.
Jessica Murphy had 14 points and five rebounds, as Oxford rolled to a 45-35 win over the host Highlanders.
Shelby Davis added 11 pints and Miranda Murphy twined 10 points for Oxford (5-1, 5-0), which led 33-21 after three quarters of play.
Raiven Owusu scored 15 points to lead Adams (3-2, 3-1).Jenny Rosonke added nine points for Adams.
SOUTHFIELD-LATHRUP 49, ROCHESTER STONEY CREEK 28: Erica Longmire scored 15 and Sabria Cotton added 10 points for Lathrup (5-0, 3-0) in this OAA Red Division win.
Lauren Voss scored seven for Stoney Creek (4-1, 2-1)
ROCHESTER 52, BIRMINGHAM GROVES 41: Rochester climbed into third place in the OAA White Division with this win Friday.
Aubrey Konal, Anne Tucker and Stephanie Von Behren al scored 10 points and Haley Klein added eight ponts for Rochester (3-2, 3-2).
Brianna Rowe scored a game-high 17 points for Groves.
PONTIAC NOTRE DAME PREP 38, FERNDALE UNIVERSITY 21: Nicole DiFiore scored 17 for Notre Dame Prep and Lindsey Klei added eight points for the Irish in this non-league win.
Abby Mays scored eight for University.
AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 57, PONTIAC 52: Hannah Susick and Carolyn Gracey both scored 12 to lead Avondale to this OAA Red Division win. Daja Whiteside added nine points for the Yellowjackets.
Amanda Miller pumped in a game-high 31 points for Pontiac.
CLARKSTON 58, TROY 35: Erik aDavenport continued to impress, scoring 18 points with 10 rebounds in Friday’s OAA Red Division win. Erin Davenport added 13 points and Carly Giroux chipped in with 10 points for the Wolves (4-1, 2-0).
Rachel Grecky had 15 points for Troy (1-5, 0-3).
