LAKE ORION — With a young team and injuries, wins have been hard to come by on the basketball court this winter for Lake Orion.

The Dragons recorded a rare win Thursday night.

Lake Orion outscored Farmington in three of the our quarter to post a 42-33 OAA White Division girls basketball victory over the Falcons.

Lake Orion held narrow leads of 11-10 at the end of the first quarter and 18-17 at the half. The Dragons pulled away with an 11-8 surge in the third frame and a 13-8 spurt in the fourth quarter.

Nicole Krier led the Dragons (2-5, 2-3) with 15 points. Melanie Gagen added 12 points and Evelyn Winschneyer followed with eight points for Lake Orion.

Aaron Howell scored eight for Farmington, while Taylor Surmeye added eight points for the Falcons (1-8, 1-5).
